Yummy in My Tummy #3

Posted on Updated on

Good Morning Everyone!  I am so happy you stopped by today!  I hope your day is fabulous.  I have the final project in the Yummy in My Tummy mini Series.  I hope you are getting some inspirational ideas from the mini series.

The Yummy in My Tummy stamp set seems to be deigned for yummy treats because lets face it, who doesn’t think it is so cute seeing little treats in the monsters tummy!!  I am telling you I think of the blue monster from Monster Inc. every time I pick up the set. I think his name is Sully.

Today’s card is a birthday card!

Treats are awesome, but how cute is a confetti tummy! I started with a standard Whisper White card base, topped with a layer of Crushed Curry cardstock sized at 4″ x 5 1/4″. The next layer up is Whisper White 3 7/8″ x 3″ for the top portion and 3 7/8″ x 2 1/4′ of the Party Animal DSP. They will overlap slightly (on purpose). I covered the seam with some Emerald Envy 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon.

For our fun monsters, critters, or fuzzy friends – you will need scrap piece of Whisper White. Stamp the Sully guy in Tangerine Tango and then Fussy cut him out. Cut the hole in his tummy using the 1 1/2: circle punch or Layering Circle Framelit. Cut out a piece of Party Animal DSP (i used the confetti) using 1 3/4″ circle punch – it needs to be slightly larger than the tummy hole. Apply from the back to the tummy hole using liquid glue.

Next you want to stamp the slimy guy in Pacific Point ink and also fussy cut him out. Pop both up on your top layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals. My sentiment is stamped in Crushed Curry using the My Hero Stamp Set. Pop up the banner as well.

A cute birthday card for anyone of any age – just super fun. Hope you are inspired by my fuzzy friends and the mini series for Yummy in My Tummy.

Yummy in My Tummy #2

Hi Everyone – Welcome back to the Yummy in My Tummy mini Series.  Today I am sharing a treat topper with you instead of a card!

Isn’t this guy so cute!  I always think if the big hairy monster in Monsters, Inc. movie.  I force myself not to stamp him in Tempting Turquoise.

img_20170122_085936   img_20170122_085943

You start with Whisper White cardstock, large enough to stamp him, at least 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. I stamped him Dapper Denim and then fussy cut him out – yes, fussy cut! I also stamped the sentiment “yummy in my tummy” in his tummy – we will punch this out using the 1 3/8″ circle punch.

I colored in the inside ring in Emerald Envy to break up all the white, but you do not need to do this. His paws are Pink Pirouette and the horns are Smoky Slate (Optional). Set him aside and punch out a 1 1/2″ circle of Dapper Denim. Later the sentiment on top and set aside.

Next – tape your Cheerful Tag Framelit and cut out a bottle tag (hole in it) in Whisper White. We will modify this just a tad after adding the DSP. You will need a piece of Dapper Denim Cardstock in 2 3/8″ x 2″ and a piece of Moroccan DSP in 2 1/2″ x 1 7/8″. Round the corner on both of these with the Project life corner rounder.

Layer the DSP onto the cardstock and then onto the Tag (non-hole) side right below the Ribbon holes. You will cut off the bottom ribbon hole and fold the top ribbon hole to create a Gusset. Add the Sentiment onto the non-hole side – pop up on dimensionals. Then add the fuzzy monster to the hole side – making sure the holes overlap. You may need to trip a smidge at the bottoms where the corners peek out just a teeny bit or you can leave them.

I put candy in a 2 x 8″ bag, but you can use any small bag you like that has up to a 3/8″ gusset. Also be careful of the size, so you can line up the tummy with the treats. I hope you enjoy my monster treat bag.

Yummy in My Tummy #1

Hi Everyone – Welcome back.  I hope you are enjoying this fabulous February Day.  Today starts another mini series on the Stampin’ Up! Yummy in My Tummy stamp Set.  I have to tell you, I am a sucker for monsters!  Love them!

This card is a simple general card – great to say Hello or to cheer someone up who just frankly, needs a hug.  We all have had those days, right?

Is the blobby monster so cute!!!  Very simple to make – I started with a standard card base in Whisper White. I added a piece of Moroccan Designers Series paper, sized @ 2″ x 5 1/4″.  I chose a simple pattern in Emerald Envy.

Our little monster is stamped in Emerald Envy on Whisper White, sized @ 2 1/4″ x 3″. I left him pretty plain, but you can color him in or use watercolor paper to get s wash look. I layered him onto a piece of Emerald Envy cardstock, sized at 2 1/2″ x 3 1/4″.

The sentiment “hugs” is also stamped in Emerald Envy and cut out using 1″ circle punch.  No punch? No worries, use the layered Circle Framelits. I have a banner in Whisper White – 3″ long and dove tailed on both ends, topped with Emerald Envy ruched ribbon @ 3 3/4″ long, reverse dovetailed (aka pointy)

I popped Hugs up and The little monster as well. Wa-La – simple. Hope you enjoy this little monster as much as I do!

National Frozen Yogurt Day

Posted on Updated on

HI Everyone!  Can you believe today is National Frozen Yogurt Day?  Well it’s pretty chilly outside for frozen yogurt, but who does not like a cool treat, regardless of the weather?  To celebrate, I made you a sweet card using the Stampin’ Up Cool Treats Stamp Set.

This card is super simple – I started with a standard card base in Whisper White.  The middle section of the card is a piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock in 2 1/8″ x  5 3/8″  topped with a piece of Tasty Treats DSP sized at 2″ x 5 1/4″

I added a delicate Whisper White Doily sponged around the edges in Watermelon Wonder.  I topped it with a crumb cake circle (2″) and a Peekaboo Peach circle (1 3/4″)

The Frozen Yogurt cone is stamped using Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake paper and the ice cream is Crumb cake on Whisper White.  I fussy cut each item and placed on top of the circles.

The sentiment is stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  Other than a little fussy cutting, the card came together pretty quickly.  I hope you enjoyed this Cool Treat on National Frozen Yogurt Day!

Moon Baby #3

Posted on Updated on

Hi Everyone.  Welcome to the final card in the Moon Baby Series.  This does not mean that I will never do another card using this set!  I wanted to give you a variety of options of the set and to decide if you would like to add it to your collection!

Card 3

This card is a neutral gender card, so only one version today. Start with a standard Whisper White card base. I added a layer of Pool Party Cardstock as a top layer.

Cut a piece of Smoky Slate at 1 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ and top with a layer from the Little Foxy DSP Pad. DSP dimensions are 1 3/4″ x 5″. Adhere to card base.

Stamp the Moon Baby toys in Basic Gray Archival ink and cut out using the Layered Oval Framelits. The 2 3/4″ oval is a good size. Also cut out a piece of Smoky Slate using Oval size 3″. I left the toys plain white, but you can color them in. I colored the stars using the Pool Party Stampin’ Write marker. Layer the stamped image onto the Smoky Slate and adhere to base using dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray. Hope you enjoyed this simple card and the Moon Baby series.

Moon Baby #2

Posted on Updated on

Hey Everyone I am back with the Moon Baby mini series.  Today I have card number 2 – I strategically picked the paper for this set of cards, I created a blue and pink one, but keep in mind, you can use any colors.

Card 2
img_20170109_203212    img_20170109_203223

For this set of cards, I started with a standard Very Vanilla card base and added a top layer of DSP from the Stampin’ Up Falling in Love pack. I thought the heart paper and this stamp made it look like the baby was floating down into a pile of hearts. The Soft Sky paper made me think of a baby being blown along the wind. It reminded me of when me and my sister were little and would wish on the little flowers and blow the seeds across the sky and then chase them as far as we could (essentially the curb or corner of the street, but it’s a fond memory).

The baby is stamped on Watercolor paper and colored in using the Aqua painter with Blushing Bride and Marina Mist. I wanted to use Soft Sky, but for water coloring, it was too light for the impact I wanted. I used the Layering Oval Framelits to cut the flying baby out as well as a piece of coordinating card stock (this is in Soft Sky). The Baby Oval is 2 3/4″ long and the cardstock is 3″ long.

Layer the ovals and adhere to card base with dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in coordinating ink on Very Vanilla and dove tailed the ends to get a banner. You can use the Triple Banner Punch if you have it.

I hope you enjoyed this version of the Moon Baby Stamp set.
